For Purva, at a very young age…,it was love at first sight. Not so much for Vikrant, for whom Purva spells mishap since the very beginning. Everything goes wrong for Vikrant with her around, which perhaps serves as a future harbinger of doom.

Vikrant is cajoled, coaxed and forced by his father (Brijendra Kala) to apply for a job with his employer Akheraj (Saurabh Shukla). As destiny would have it, Vikrant crosses paths with Purva when he takes a wrong turn at Akheraj’s home. While he attempts to wheedle his way out, a fateful phone call from Purva seals his fate as an accountant for Purva’s Zumba classes for a salary three times his current amount.

Being the only daughter of local goon and politician Akheraj (Saurabh Shukla), Purva is not used to being denied anything including being in denial regarding Vikrant’s feelings for her.

She’s a girl with everything to offer: Beauty, sensuality, money and power; only Vikrant doesn’t want her or have anything to do with her father’s bloody and cut-throat ways. He is content with the small things that life has to offer: A job at a small town with its modest salary, a small house and a small dog to go with his petite girlfriend, Shikha.

Like a fish out of water, consent and wishes aside, he finds himself being arranged to marry Purva. The harder he tries to slip out, the tighter the noose goes around his neck.It doesn’t help that his family remain oblivious to Akheraj’s pressure tactics and manipulating ways. Blindsided by the sudden fame and fortune the alliance has brought with it, they jump for joy at their son’s purported good fortune. Refusing to consign himself to a suffocating existence, he orchestrates several means to escape, including attempting to kill Purva. Too cowardly to do the deed himself, his desperation knows no bounds. His attempts only cause him and Shikha to sink further and faster.

The veterans; Saurabh Shukla and Brijendra Kala are undoubtedly the show stealers. Tahir Bahsin comes across convincingly as the mute, frustrated boy who makes unsuccessful attempts at freedom. Shweta Tripathi plays and looks the part of a middle class girl belonging to a UP family and Anchal Singh , though by no means new to the industry, does manage to be sensual without having to show skin.

Full marks to the music. I enjoyed all of them :Bheega Bheega, Humra Sajaniya, Teri Bhari Humri Ateriya, Bahaano Bahaano, and Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein which plays as a background score etc.

The show does have it’s hilarious points: Vikrant’s friend passing his abrupt midnight departure to wanting to indulge in Mango flavoured Condoms, to youtube lessons on how to convincingly cry and a stray bullet which lodges itself in an interesting spot. The show gives us several stomach churning moments with its several misses. Interspersed with its dark humour, the show is perhaps not Gripping or Jaw Dropping but does serve to be thrilling. Vikrant’s mute behaviour and haplessness is irritating but is vital to the show’s plot, while his girlfriend, Shikha gets mauled all the way.
